We change the 1st generation of Deep Learning built upon CNN and LSTM to a 2nd Generation based on VisionNet, MemoryNet, and SemanticNet. The VisionNet is the next generation of vision-oriented CNN, expanding the common ops Conv, Pool to a new set of ops that greatly reduces the number of parameters, and increases robustness and accuracy. It can improve vision accuracy from 98% to 99.99%, and it is explainable. MemoryNet supersedes LSTM and LSTM-with-attention by providing a new trainable memory and attention system for time series, actions and language. It not only solves the problem of vanishing gradients, but also provides scalability to a level beyond the limits of LSTM. SemanticNet is a new component that has no parallel in the 1st Gen of Deep Learning. It is the backbone for semantic processing, understanding human languages with ease and confidence that you don’t see in any existing semantic algorithm, including LSA, word embeddings and intent deciders.
